On-Camera Acting Classes: Now Enrolling
at Balance school of performing arts
Basecamp foundations: On-Camera 101
Building actors from the ground up.
1 day per week · 1.5-hour classes · Limited spots · Ages 10–13 • 14–17 • 18+
what you'll learn:
Dip your toe into the world of on-screen acting. Start with the basics: simple tools, simple camera technique, and the first steps into your on-screen craft, with a first look at how auditions and self-tapes really work. Taught by a working casting director and on-set acting coach, you’ll work scenes from current projects and leave with clarity on what it takes to succeed and a taste of the work ahead.
This is your foundation. This is Basecamp.
Beginning January 2026 @

Basecamp Forge: On-Camera Scene Study
Where foundation becomes craft.
1 day per week · 1.5-hour classes · Limited spots · Ages 10–13 • 14–17 • 18+
what you'll learn:
Forge is the next step for actors ready to deepen their on-camera work. Small groups, focused training, and scene work designed for actors who want to train at a professional level. You’ll dig into text and script analysis, explore character, subtext, and intention, and start building the instincts that film and television demand.
Actors work through on-camera scene study, stronger choices, range exploration, grounded moments, while continuing to sharpen audition skills, self-tape technique, and overall industry readiness. Set etiquette and professional expectations are built into the work so actors understand how to carry themselves on a real production.
Admission requires completion of Basecamp: Foundations or approval by headshot and résumé.
This is where your craft takes shape. This is Forge.
